I have a Sony DVD Player WITHOUT USB port. I want to connect my Pendrive to it and watch movies which I download on my comp and not write it to DVD as it takes a long time. Is there a way I can connect the Pendrive to the DVD player? by alexuddin
Since player does not have USB port and required software to attach/read pen drive, it is not possible to use USB drives for above mentioned purpose. You have to rely on DVDs for enjoying music and movies. by Ganesh Pawar
Hi expert, I went to see demo of this model LG 26lg30R in a show room at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. I was watching CNBC channel the video was good and clear. But the ticker which was running at the bottom could not readable, it was like ghost and not clear at all. If one reads for 10 - 15 min headache is sure. Is this the limit of LCD TV or this particular model. This model says response time of 5 ms. Does 5 ms not enough? Please explain, thanks by vkkindia
In LCD TVs response time of 5 ms is considered to fast, in-fact response time of 8 ms and below is good enough to let users to watch TV/video feed without much noticeable ghosting effect. But it is right that reading those moving ticker will be a problem may be due to its size, location and mismatch between signal of TV and the broadcaster. Try to watch similar channel on competing models of similar size, see if situation improves. We also feel that its about getting used to it, may be after using for sometime. by Ganesh Pawar

Hi, Planning to buy LCD 40" or 42". I am very confused as to which one to buy. Considering the cost & technology, I shortlisted on LG 42LG80FR and Samsung LA40A550. I went to couple of dealers to get some feedback. Most of them suggest Samsung against LG, inspite of LG Jazz (42LG80FR) being technically better product. Also, the impression in terms of picture & contrast of Samsung was much better than LG, when viewed both the LCD side by side. But LG faired better in some of the fast moving scenes. I need your advise on this. Please suggest which one to buy...thanks by CharanMC
As you know is more of value for money choice LG - 42LG80FR as it bit bigger, has better on paper contrast ratio, equally good response time, better sound output and connectivity including USB port which is video capable, so it’s a good overall package. So if you want to let go some of utility features of LG Jazz and only concerned with picture performance then Smasung 5 series model is also good choice with ability of displaying images with natural colours and good contrast performance. by Ganesh Pawar
I have purchased recently 32LG80FR but human figures sometimes look thick, fat and short when compared to earlier CRT. When I lodged a complaint, the engineer told me that in LCD it will always look like this. Is that correct or is there any defect in piece? (There is an option to adjust to CRT mode but then it looks to narrow and vertical). by karma218
Its little disappointing but its true that normal TV broadcast will look below par on latest LCD/Plasma TVs mainly due to analog signal which is low in resolution. Here LCD TV will have to due some resizing in way to display incoming picture to fit TV resolution, it also results in aspect ratio correction and so the resultant pictures which look little out of proportion. So its nothing wrong with TV model, as it will perform similarly on other models as well. by Ganesh Pawar
Hello, I read this query "One of the local dealers is selling Videocon - ECR3321SS convection model which has a MRP of Rs 12,990- for Rs 4,990- which looks a steal. Is this model worth the buy? Does it have all the needed features of a convection model. Please advise by vsrikan" and would like to buy it. Please let me know a dealer in Delhi NCR to buy this model at this price of 4990. by wilfulstar
Our user Mr. Srikantan has responded to your query it is as follows: "It is Vasanth & Co in Chennai. They are one of the big retailers in Chennai with many branches and are having a sale till 13th Jan from 28th Dec. In fact for the first two days (28th and 29th Dec) they were selling it for Rs 5990- and then dropped it to Rs 4990. If he needs any further info, he can get in touch through e-mail vsrikan@yahoo.com. In fact Videocon's Group shop Next is selling it at Chennai for Rs 11990 and couple of others in Chennai between 10,000 and 12,000. This kind of sale in Microwave is not surprising at all. In fact Malaika in Mumbai in Aug/Sept of 2008 was selling IFB 20SC2 - 20 Liter Microwave with a MRP of 9500 for Rs 3900. Also on 25th Dec 2008, Videocon was selling through Indiatimes.com website Electrolux 25 Liter Convection with MRP of 8900 for Rs 4990."
Hi I plan to purchase a refrigerator about 300 litres capacity. After having gone through the research at your website, I settled on Samsung RT-34. However, on visit to the showrooms, I found LG GL-338 VA4 attractive. Whereas the RT-34 looks functionally complete, the LG version looks more attractive, design-wise. I believe this LG model has been just launched and hence, not able to ascertain much about its performance. Would you have any feedback on this model? Which one will you recommend to purchase? What will be the price of these models in Bangalore? Thanks for your help. by malol
GL-338VA4 has Gross Volume of 320ltrs and Storage Volume of 290ltrs. It consumes 469 of electricity per year (approx) and has 4 star rating. It seems to be a good buy but there is not much consumer feedback available still. by Priti Panadi

Dear Sir, I am planning to buy a Plasma. What brand I can buy? My viewing distance is 9 ft I am confused whether I can go for LCD or Plasma? What is the advantage and disadvantage of buying Plasma? Please reply. by dhanujaa
Each TV technology has its own advantages plasmas give best contrast performance while LCD TVs display sharper-brighter images. LCD TVs are more energy efficient than plasma TVs. If you going to use TV for watching regular TV broadcast and DVD movies then plasma TV is good option, if you are going to use it to play game, watch HD content then LCD TV is better choice having better resolution and connectivity in mentioned size segment. Your 42 inch plasma TV choices include Panasonic-TH-42PV8H, LG-42PG61UR and Samsung-PS42A450P1. While in 40-42 inch LCD TV segment your choices include LG-42LG80FR, Samsung-LA40A550P1, Sony-KLV-40S400A and LG-42LG53FR. by Ganesh Pawar
